To All Imperial Lovers,

For those of you that were unable to attend the 27th Imperial Statewide Meet in Palm Springs, we had a very memorable time. For the first time in my memory, there was no one with a story for the Hard Luck Award so the award went to Mike Hackney whose Imperial was running much too rich and stopped at almost every gas station on the way to the Meet. My accolades go to all the Imperial owners who attended the meet for keeping their Imperials in such fine running condition. We had members driving their Imperials from as far as Placerville, Citrus Heights, Henderson, NV, Phoenix, AZ, and then from Southern California. Members flew in from Salt Lake City, UT, Indianapolis, IN, and Mullica Hills, N.J.

Palm Springs offered many different types of entertainment. Some of the members rode the tram up Mt. San Jacinto to the 8,500-foot level where there was a lot of snow and gorgeous views to attending the
Living Museum where they have the third largest model train display.
On Friday we all enjoyed visiting John Boccardo and J.R. Robert’s car collection and touring the fabulous Air Museum. For those that could arrive on Thursday, and attend the Follies, they were entertained to the fullest!

Our members ranged in age from 10 to 98 years – Alexander, the youngest, participated at the Awards Banquet by reading the numbers for the raffle and I might add very articulately and timely.

During our fun, on a sad note, we learned that John and Nancy Tennyson’s home burned (at this writing, I don’t know the extent of their loss or cause of the fire but it was reported, that the house will need to be rebuilt). I do know that they are safe; staying with friends. Our hearts and prayers go out to them. You can drop a note to them at: 1511 El Nido Way, Sacramento, CA 95864.

Your next newsletter will list the award winners and announce the location of next year’s Statewide Meet.

Marc, Ken and I want to “thank” each of you that took the time and effort to attend this year’s Statewide Meet.

Imperially yours,
Nannette Clark
